At PBC we highly value our corporate worship, when we gather together to thank God for all that He is and does, to bring Him honor by exalting Him as our highest, most precious treasure. Our corporate adoration of God is defined by all that we do in praise to Him: our love and unity that we give to one another in fellowship; our prayers of praise, thanksgiving, intercession and requests that we offer to God; our support of the church family, missions and the needy through the giving of our resources; the lifting of our voices together in song with overflowing hearts of gratitude and praise; our thirsting for God's Word with a longing for obedience as it's proclaimed. ALL these things define our corporate worship.
We use five governing principles to help us toward our goal of honoring God with vibrant worship: Our celebration must be God-centered. (Psalm 100) Our celebration must be driven by biblical content. (John 4:23-24) Worship encourages participation. It is not a spectator event. Worship anticipates God’s presence and power among His people. Worship convicts unbelievers that God is among us. (1 Cor. 14:24-25)
At PBC we learn from expository preaching through entire books of the Bible and through topical studies. We are careful to consider the historical, grammatical and linguistical meaning of Scripture in order to be faithful to God's original intent as we apply its truths in the present. Our song time is a “blended” style that combines the lyrical strength of historic hymns with fresh sounds of praise and worship. We sing songs that help us reflect on God's goodness and His greatness.
