Rick Halfmann
– Rick’s life and ministry are driven by a desire for others to know
God deeply and make Him known passionately for the highest honor of His
Name and the greatest good for all people through Jesus Christ. This
desire is pursued through prayer and God-centered, expositional
preaching with relevant application to promote obedience to the faith.
Rick has also incorporated age-appropriate theological teaching in our
children’s Sunday School classes to help nurture early their own desire
to know God deeply and make Him known passionately. His goal is for the
body of Christ to be lovingly unified and equipped to serve one another
and to bring the Gospel of Christ to the world through global missions
and to the local community through building relationships in various
contacts of generosity and kindness. In other words, to know God deeply
and make Him known passionately.
God’s ministry call on Rick’s life began shortly after he was saved at
the age of 21. He and his wife Doni moved from Taylor, Michigan to
Springfield, Missouri to attend Baptist Bible College where he graduated
in 1975. He has continued his studies at Michigan Theological Seminary.
Through various ministries God has nurtured Rick’s desire to spread a
passion for knowing God deeply and making Him known passionately. He
has taught both children’s Sunday School and adult Bible classes and
seminars, was a College and Career Pastor in Taylor, and Associate
Pastor, then Pastor for Preaching at Oakland Baptist Church in Novi.
Rick joined the Plymouth Baptist pastoral team in1994 as our Family
Ministries Pastor and became our Pastor for Preaching in 2006.
Both he and his wife are partners in ministry as they work together for
all people to supremely treasure Jesus Christ. God has blessed them
with two children: Christan, who lives with her husband in Tennessee,
and John who lives with his wife in Florida.

Paul
Dare
– Paul is our elder over the small group’s ministry
and young child care. Paul has been with Plymouth Baptist since the
spring of 2000. On Sunday mornings you can find him playing the drums
for PBC’s praise and worship team. Ever since he was saved in 1997,
Paul has had a strong and growing desire to serve God, study His Word
and teach it to others. Paul began teaching children’s Sunday school in
2002 and periodically shares the teaching load in our adult Sunday
school as well. He has helped, taught at and led our vacation Bible
school ministry in recent years. Paul currently teaches the 1st
through 3rd grade class and oversees the One Another Care
group ministry. Paul is married to Jennifer, who directs the Church’s
nursery, and they have four children. He works full time in the
telecommunications industry and, when time permits, takes classes at
Michigan Theological Seminary in order to better equip him to serve both
his family and the church.

David
Havrilla David
has the privilege of teaching the Sunday morning youth group, more
fondly known as the CREW (Committed to Relationships Evangelism and the
Word). In a verse by verse through an entire book study method, the
group is enjoying learning more about the greatest commands - how to
love God with all that you are and how to love others sacrificially. He
has been at PBC since 1991 and is coordinator of outreach activities, the missions committee and
trustees, and occasionally teaches adult Sunday school. After his
Masters in Engineering from University of Michigan, David attended night
classes at Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary for several semesters.
He is a mechanical engineer working as a Product Manager at TRUMPF, an
international laser company founded in Germany. David and his wife Kelly
have a passion for sharing the gospel. Their jobs have provided an international
connection with the unique opportunity of getting involved in the lives
of people transferred to the U.S. from foreign countries. David and Kelly enjoy
walking, kayaking, hiking (especially in the Colorado mountains!), and
just about any activity that takes them out into God’s wonderful
creation. |
